Meet the coaches

Owner/Founder/Coach of Maine Mussels. From Middlebury, VT played college lacrosse at St. Michaels College in Burlington, VT. Started the Mussels in 2015 and has been growing ever since!

Coach Manders is the current Head Coach at USM

Previously, he was the head coach at NYA and 207Lacrosse. He attended Suny Cortland in NY during his college career

Coach Young was a 4 year player at the University of New England.  He currently works with our Mussels 2025 Green Team!

Graduated & played at Westbrook high school and played 4 years at New England College in Henniker, NH.

Coaches at Westbrook high school and Westbrook middle school. Also plays for the Maine Northmen box lacrosse team.

Derek Marshall is currently the Head Coach and Assistant Athletic Director at Bridgton Academy. Also, he is currently the Director of Lacrosse at Bridgton Sports Camp. Before Bridgton Academy, he spent 4 seasons at Wheaton College (MA) as the Defensive/Recruiting Coordinator.

Derek started his collegiate playing career at Dean College where he was the 2013 Defensive Player of the Year. Marshall moved on to Lasell College where he continued his collegiate career and received a degree in Exercise Science with a minor in coaching

Brendan Boss is the current head coach for the Freeport High School Falcons. Brendan played

5 seasons as a starting midfield/attackmen at Springfield College from 2012 to 2017. He has

coached at all levels of lacrosse, ranging from youth to college. Played high school lacrosse in

Western Mass for West Springfield High School.

Coach Lukk is the Associate Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach at Thomas College and a 2015 graduate of Frostburg State University.

Cole  is currently the assistant lacrosse coach at Bridgton academy. He is from Laconia New Hampshire and is also a Bridgton academy graduate. He played college lacrosse at Wheaton College (MA) and just graduated in May 2024. He was named an NEILA Allstar after his senior year and also selected to the NEILA all- academic team
